Wouldn't it be cool if Beyonce decided to be Missy Elliot (or even Timbaland) instead of the inevitable Diana Ross?

DC split every six months: it will make no difference to what's good about them, or indeed what's poor.

As Mark says, this is abt the third or fourth version of DC anyway, isn't it? Do the other two have much of a say in things - would they be missed if they were gone? And I read elsewhere that this was pretty much a temporary hiatus rather than a full-blown split - they have released two albs this year, give 'em a break!

This is old news anyway - they announced it in Smash Hits MONTHS ago but plainly only I read this source of pop news. After the album and tour they said, they'd all be doing solo material - one of them would put out an R&B album, one a Gospel album and one a something-else- album (IDM probably). Blimey national media keep up!

They say its so Beyonce and co can have a rest but i bet they haven't split. Just an excuse for solo records and then the reformation record after.

Splits like this are presumably not the good news they appear: they just generate x times as many more horrible records (cf Spice Girls).

Pinefox is 100% right. Except that the other members of DC aren't going to have much of a solo career at all. OH! OH! I just saw Victoria Beckham's solo album, WTF is that cover about?
