I want classic early Kool & the Gang remastered NOW!!

Has it ever been? I doubt it because I have the "Music Is the Message", "Spirit Of the Boogie" & "Light Of Worlds" cd's, plus the "Best of...1969-1976" Mercury collection from 1993 - and they all sound very thin. Which is not the way I like listening to the funkiest band ever!

Anybody know what the state of this awful mess is?

The double disc Gangthology collection came out 2 years ago, I believe. I haven't heard it, but I assume it's remastered.

Yeah, I can recommend the greatest hits 1969-76 disc as well. I lost my copy some years back.

I love the first album, and Wild & Peaceful is totally classic.

yes, the "69-76" is one of the best releases ever. i just want to hear them drums n'bass with some more ummphh. the umph that it deserves for sure. i'll look into that gangthology.

Yeah, '69-76' came out in 1993, so it could use an overhaul. I have 'Love & Understanding,' which was remastered about five years ago for CD.

my copy of Wild & Peaceful is not remastered, but I bought it years ago. Has it been since then?
