tylero (tylero), Friday, 17 September 2004 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Everything by Antony and the Johnsons. All of the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum side projects, especially Charming Hostess and Faun Fables. Anything that bashes Bush, especially "Fuzzy Math" by the Bots and the No W... NOW! compilation. Decememberists. Long Winter's "Prom Night at Hater High." The Fall, "Sparta 2XXX." Martes Martes. The Mae Shi, "Power to the Power." The George Sarah 7 song demo that's a station exclusive. I get tons of calls on that.

Metro Area 5-Proton Candy

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Friday, 17 September 2004 06:38 (twenty-one years ago)

that Moonstar track is stunning, everyone should get it, sounds like a lost Derrick May record or something. Also on Sonar Kollektiv while I like "Mifune" I prefer Nia also by Ame.

Also big in Dublin at the moment is Spirit Catcher-Dirty Circuit (Missive)

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 17 September 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I hadn't heard any AME so i'll have to check it out. Thanx for the tip.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 20 September 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

'saxaphone' by westbam. i forgot how great this was and age has made it sound greater. flip it over and see where weatherall stole his my bloody valentine remix from.

stirmonster, Monday, 20 September 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, i've been listening to the group deceptacon's lost subject 1 and 2 lps (www.m3rck.net)

Haven't been able to mix them into a set yet - too breaksy but they are DOPE albums.
also on merck, ilkae's bring extra dragons. Video game glitch pop. Again, hard to spin with my other stuff, but after a splif it takes me places.

two nights ago i dropped the serge santiago mix of missy elliot's "I'm really really hot" and it was pure crowd response. I ended up just mixing in bits of it later in the night to keep people amped (in with some zombie nation).

Anko (Anko), Monday, 20 September 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesper Dahlback, Machine Dance (DX)

Both tracks on this are stompers.

The Nix remixes from TiefSchwarz are good too.

That Serge Santiago does some good mixes - shame most of them are so poppy. Anyone know any good Santiago tracks?

Frankly, Friday, 24 September 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

So any of you guys putting mixes online?

phil jones (interstar), Friday, 24 September 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I will if i ever get off dialup! ;)

Frankly, Friday, 24 September 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I love every track on that I:Cube 12", especially the Maurice Fulton mix of Vaccum Jackers. I hear something new every time. Level 42, Nick Straker, and Material so far... Fulton's one of my favorite (and least predictable) remixers right now.

I'm not a DJ (beyond making CDRs for myself and friends) but here goes anyway.

Mathew Jonson - Love Letter to the Enemy
Mathew Jonson - 911, How Can I Help You? (someone should just throw piles of cash at him now)
Pendle Coven - Jaunty Angle (Claro Intelecto Remix)
Horror Inc. - The Vanishing
Ferenc - Punto Pilota
Einmusik - Wave Scanner
Chadronnet - Ledge
Omar S. - Always There
Sascha Funke - The Intimate Touch
Moonstarr - Detriot (agreed -- LOVE it)
Panash' - Cheval
M. Rahn - Cobra Boy
Sten - Task Force

Andy K (Andy K), Sunday, 26 September 2004 00:37 (twenty-one years ago)

tricky disco (disco stu), Sunday, 26 September 2004 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I just downloaded philip sherburne's schaffel mix and it's really good!

You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch (tracerhand), Sunday, 26 September 2004 00:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Fulton's remix of Beanfield is amazing.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 September 2004 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a war by serge santiago.
Holy crap it is good.
The A side needs +2 or 3 to really get people up though.

Frankly, Monday, 27 September 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone know any sites that list dj's picks?
dave clarke ususally has some good ones www.daveclarke.com

George, Tuesday, 28 September 2004 08:38 (twenty-one years ago)

So everyone is sick of this topic hey?

This is pretty old but TokTok's Knack Knobbed EP ROCKS.
Most of it is aroun 140bpm, so it's a bit fast but it still sounds alright at 132ish so it's a good way to pick up the pace later in your set.

Toktok just rocks in general.

since you sound like a tiefschwarz fan anko, nix is a good track.
