I only recently picked this up. Certainly I love early Felt, but I never got around to this somehow. What's the consensus? I enjoy it, but I think it will take some more plays to really flesh itself out in my head without me sometimes thinking (especially at the start) that magically it will transform itself into one of his most stellar instrumentals on Ignite The Seven Cannons...

It's one for the ages. Very beautiful and moving.

That being said, I will sell my copy to the highest bidder.

I don't like it much. There's one added-on track on the reissued CD, from sessions in the 90's, which is very conventional, almost Knopfler-esqe. It's also the best thing he's ever done.

eleven years pass...

Just picked up the reissue LP and i'm enjoying it tonight. It's maybe not quite as good as the liner notes say it is, but already at times it's sounded like The Cure, Durutti Column and, of course, Felt. Silver Fountain of Paradise Square reminds me of Vini's mood and playing style on I Know Very Well How I Got My Name. Could easily have been a b-side to a Viva Hate single. Pressing sounds good, sleeve is textured, but the printing on the liner notes looks like it was done on a dot matrix printer. BUT IS IT BALAERIC?
