Paul Hixon Pittman: C or the Other Thing?

I wandered across Mr Pittman's album last year, and I think it's great. This singer/songwriter-y thing stands or falls on the strength of the songs, and in this case I think the songs are swallowing tins of spinach. But maybe it's just me. Anyway, I feel the need to publicise his wonderfulness. So I am.

How do you feel about Young and Sexy, his band that formed in 2000? How does this copmpare to their albums?

I LOVE Y&S, but I was unaware of this solo album until now. fascinating!

I only found out about Y&S tonight after a drunken Google. I thought he'd vanished without trace. I'll get back to you.

their second album, 'Life Through One Speaker', is the better, but it's a lot less immediate. search 'Weekend Warriors', 'Herculean Bellboy', 'Lose Control', and 'More Than I Can Say'

There are a few songs off of that solo disc that made it onto the first Y&S album, 'Stand Up For Your Mother'. off that one, search 'Car Bought For A Son', 'The City You Live In Is Ugly', and maybe 'Scott'.

they're a really super pop band. def. one of my local faves. I'll be sure to track down this solo album.

So now I find out that he's re-recorded songs like "Lies, Ties and Battlefields" and I'm very excited. Either I get my Xmas presents early or I have to go out and rob a Post Office tomorrow so I can buy this stuff.
