Does anyone know anything about a singer named Heather Duby? A friend recommended her music to me. Good? Bad? Otherwise?

I've only heard Post to Wire on Subpop... a little like a hamfisted attempt by SP to broaden their roster with a post-triphop 'atmosphere' artist. A couple of good tracks, but not essential.

I'm thinking that was close to five years ago, though, so there's no telling what she's like now.

i can't really add anything to that. the sub pop lp is not bad, but hardly one of their best releases. she does have a very nice voice.

There's a fine interview with Heather here.

I've got that 'Post to Wire' too. It's quite lovely and pretty, but by no means essential. She sounds like Sarah McLachlan, minus all the MOR concessions. This album could easily have come out on Nettwerk.

I wouldn't sell it, but either do i listen to it more than one, twice a year. It's worth picking up.

I heard that she finally put a new album out, but I haven't seen it or heard who she worked with.

One of her songs came free with a MusicMatch jukebox I downloaded in 1999! It was okay, kind of an overproduced Suzanne Vega track.
