Will it be NOISE? It's the new thing

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 24 September 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmm, 'Anal' ord

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Friday, 24 September 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

why do they specify "two centre labels"?

m0stly clean (m0stly clean), Friday, 24 September 2004 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Cos it's nerdtastic

DJ Mencap0))), Friday, 24 September 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

i only buy albums with one centre label.
aphex is slippin'.

m0stly clean (m0stly clean), Friday, 24 September 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

why do they specify "two centre labels"?

The two Men 12" singles he released didn't have centre labels so perhaps this is to indicate that this is a different series for him.

Vic Funk, Friday, 24 September 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

NO centre labels?!
that's radical. i take it back. aphex is not slippin'.

m0stly clean (m0stly clean), Friday, 24 September 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Does that mean it won't be available on CD?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 24 September 2004 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Packaged in custom binder with pockets to hold several editions from the "Analord" series.

Maybe the whole series will be released as 1 CD.

Vic Funk, Friday, 24 September 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Is RDJ in fact an anal lord?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 24 September 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i like how they list the B.P.M.s, because there are legions of DJs out there going "hmm... new aphex, but can i mix it in as easily as, say, bucephalous bouncing ball?"

Dave M. (rotten03), Friday, 24 September 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

We salute you, Analord!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 24 September 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Aphex just bought a DMX drum machine, an oberheim ePrommer and a modular, so be warned.

Disco Nihilist (mjt), Friday, 24 September 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

(I know this because I follow his Ebay Habits...)

Disco Nihilist (mjt), Friday, 24 September 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Aphex Twin classic or Dud?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 24 September 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Two center labels so the record doppler-effects in two different ways. Genius!

Eric H. (Eric H.), Friday, 24 September 2004 23:13 (twenty-one years ago)

hah, almost as good as watching vincent gallo's ebay habits.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 September 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

You arent the only following his analog habits Gutterbreakz has a post saying that he is buying tons of old gear.

hector (hector), Friday, 24 September 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

We can expect less fussy, skittering drum programming.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 25 September 2004 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

people follow celebrities' ebay habits?

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 25 September 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

what a country!

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 25 September 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

this will sound like polygon window and everyone will hate it even though it will be genius!

i have no real reason to think this and zero evidence to back this up but i'm sticking to it.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Saturday, 25 September 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

If it sounds like Polygon Window I won't complain.

haha this will probably be the only "Analord" thing he'll ever release and we'll all spend entirely too much money on a 2-track EP

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 25 September 2004 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Er... you know the Half-Life symbol is just a lambda? Greek letter, and it's the symbol used to denote the half-life of a radioactive substance.

Not sure why the Aphex symbol is like a lambda...

By the way, from http://www.richarddjames.com/ here's something geeky:

meta http-equiv="keywords" content="richard d james, richard, d, james, mashed potatoes"

"Mashed potatoes"? Why do you say "mashed potatoes"?

Peter Hollo (raven), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 02:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope and pray that this will be good.

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 02:35 (twenty-one years ago)

The only other rekkids I've seen that list BPMs like that are some old ones my mum used for teaching aerobics. Oh, and 808 State.

"meta http-equiv="keywords" content="richard d james, richard, d, james, mashed potatoes"

He's obviously trying to muscle in on the mashed-potatoes-music, of which the Fall are the biggest purveyors of the racket with 'Pumpkin Soup and Mashed Potatoes'

the afx logo looks uncannily like the yellow pages logo - turn the yellow pages round a bit.
