I think we should use this thread to list Red Spyda productions, because as much as I hear the name, I can't think of that many tracks I know he's done, and I don't really have a handle on what his sound is yet:

I think his sound is pretty much just an amalagamation of post-"Get Ur Freak On" Tim and "Nothin" era Neptunes.

He can do the snaky bellydancing beats very well ("Sugar Walls", "3 Bs") and the big beat fat bass classicist NY shit even better ("Kiss Of Death", "Realest Niggaz") PLUS he's getting very good at understated sample based r'n'b beats ("Sunshine", "Wanna Get To Know You", "Check").

Big fat instantly recognisable drum samples.

But a bit too 2-note sometimes.

(I dunno offhand, no. I know there's a Sheena Easton song of the same title, but I can't remember if they actually sound alike or anything)

yeah I think I like him best in classicist NY mode, I love the "Realest Niggaz" and "Kiss of Death" beats.

yeah. i dug realest. i think he's at his best here paying homage to kick in the door, with the primo stutter.
he never lets anyone photograph his face. isn't that crazy?

he's supposed to have a release called doomsday coming out on a label called infrared music

he openly admits that "The Realest Niggaz" beat was an attempt to emulate the Neptunes. still kinda clicky clacky to me.

it definitely has a Neptunes feel (the rhythm reminds me of the "Wait A Minute" beat), but it's so much better than any cod-Neptunes stuff out there, the high melody line is so great.
