Rock for Change shows

So anyone else catch any of these? I saw Springsteen, REM, Fogerty, and Bright Eyes (!?) in Cleveland, and Pearl Jam, Death Cab, and Tim Robbins' punk band Gob Roberts (heh) in Grand Rapids, and both shows were great. Pretty amazing that they even pulled this off, considering that on each of the nights there were several similar such shows in progress. While the all-star Springsteen, REM, Fogerty, Oberst finale was in progress in Cleveland, apparently Neil Young showed up to play six songs with Pearl Jam in Toledo, for example. Tour finale in DC to be televised, supposedly.

(BTW, quite surreal to see Springsteen playing with REM, or Oberst sharing a mic with Fogerty)

Not sure if this tour will make a differance at all, but it felt great to be a part of something (even if back home in IL the vote is already decided). Then again, the Times this morning indicates voter registration is way up, so hey ...
