Remy (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 04:00 (twenty-one years ago)

alex, if you come, could you be a doll and burn me a copy of that Henske & Yester album? i'll get you a copy of the cd i'm burning for adam (14 mp3 albums)

JaXoN (JasonD), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

shit, i totally forgot they were playing here that night. i'll probably just go to the Independent show.

JaXoN (JasonD), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, I might have to leave work early!!! I'm not sure how big they are, but I couldn't get in to see Rilo Kiley and the line was half way around the block in both directions!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 04:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going to the in "depends" show

ILMers say hi

Drew Daniel, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 07:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, what's that? Do you live in L.A.? We should hang and consider rockism!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

JaXon, I will burn it for you. And Adam I will have your 100 or so mp3 jungle cd done too.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

More LA ILM folk? This is a very good thing indeed! Though I think Drew did mention that before...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Juniors boy are pleasant live.. but, well, you know, they're not the greatest live act in the world, although it sounds great and all.. i'd just relax and just watch the show and not worry about camcorders and such.

REFICUL!, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

NO WE MUST CAPTURE EVERY SHOW NOW SO THAT THERE IS FOOTAGE FOR THE BEHIND THE MUSIC SPECIAL IN 2024.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Let's just say that while the Junior Boys were fine live, Mouse On Mars obliterated them live... utterly and completely. The J boys would admit this every night too. if you haven't seen Mouse On Mars live since pre-Niun Ninnung, you are in for a treat... hell even since Idiology!

REFICUL!, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahaha! I'm still at this fucking job but I think I might make some sort of excuse and leave early to make the show if JaXoN or Alex or anyone else is going.

Tous Les Garcons S'Appellent Little Lord Travolta (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:14 (twenty-one years ago)

haha ned I'm sure there have been enough camcorders recording the Junior Boys just standing around and turning their backs to the audience fiddling with stuff based on the single show I went to alone. that's well covered by now.

REFICUL!, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

although the Doug Marsch looking guy in the band is certainly a yukster (aside from his totally bored looking cohort behind the racks)

REFICUL!, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Must be that Hamilton, Ontario charm.

REFICUL!, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Woo, Miles Davis is back from the dead!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going to Amoeba for the free show, but I'm not going to the show later that night. You should come, Adam! You will get goodies!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

LA is my lady . . . but I live in San Francisco- too bad Spencer and Ned, I want to chew the rockist rag more too

Amoeba instores get hella crowded; that Sonic Youth one was super-snug.

Drew Daniel, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

the Fantomas show i saw there was the stinkiest show i've ever been to. but i don't think they're that big to get super-snug.

drew, tall and shorter hair or shorter and longer hair?

JaXoN (JasonD), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you Drew Daniel from Matmos?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh wait, that's right! I keep forgetting you're that Mr. Daniel. How'd you get to meet Ken Reinhard, actually? Great professor.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha well I know what you look like then. I'll say hi if I see you.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 October 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken Reinhard and his wife Julia Lupton wrote an amazing book together called "After Oedipus" and I got to know him through working on my dissertation under a friend of theirs, Richard Halpern. That seminar at UCI was ace.

Drew Daniel, Tuesday, 5 October 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

so alex and i were like the only people to actually show up for the show at amoeba. was pretty cool, but all previous accounts are accurate. singer/guitarist is funny, guy behind gear must have stagefright or something.

but i swear to god they sound soooo much like the cure live. the effects on the guitar and bass are, as alex said, right off of Disinigration.
