Is There Anything Classical Musicians Haven't Been Dressed Up As?

Venetian robots, medieval 'babes', Red Arrows pilots, Nigel Kennedy's Villa/Hendrix fusion look and Factory's attempt to flog classical music by dressing the people up as art students in baggy jumpers.

OK, there aren't as many as I thought, but what's left, and what have I left out.

It never seems to work. Or does it?

They'll do anything if they think it will help them make enough money to buy a better cello.

all performances of "4'33" should be done naked

So what should I dress up as to promote my symphony, then?

(My dad says that it sounds like Yes. I don't know whether to be insulted or not.)

What I have left out is a question mark.

I like the idea that all the proceeds go on cellos. Nigel Kennedy used to have a very nice violin. I wonder if he's got loads now. One day I might get his 'Best Of'.

Did anyone get those Factory Records releases? They were on Snub TV, I think. Listening to Tony Wilson the other day, it struck me how little of his stuff seems to have worked/lasted. That's not a criticism, just a thought. What did work/last is more than enough.

Do you have any idea how much cello strings actually cost? I'm surprised they have money left over for costumes!
