Also:
Adult.
T. Rex
Adam and the Ants

But Evolution will make you whip through your chores like _that_.

Start Today by Gorilla Biscuits.

Pepe Roni, Friday, 8 October 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

My mom always listened to Belinda Carlisle while she cleaned.

rebecca s (rebecca S), Friday, 8 October 2004 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

So... i know all of Belinda Carlisle's songs. How about that?

rebecca s (rebecca S), Friday, 8 October 2004 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Who Cleans? (That was the album right after Who's Next)

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Friday, 8 October 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Queen "A Night At the Opera" lp- by the time you get to "you're my best friend" at the end of side one, you are done!

nothing like disco to get you dusting!

hector (hector), Friday, 8 October 2004 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Damaged by Black Flag.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 8 October 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Strange I have been listening to Black Flag again recently and all it makes me want to do is kinda jerk around.

Which I guess would be great for vacuming, or scrubbing the shit out of a countertop.

hector (hector), Friday, 8 October 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

If I'm in a rush - Orbital's Halcyon

tipustiger, Saturday, 9 October 2004 00:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Said this before, but Carcass - Necroticism(etc.) is the most fun I've had house-cleaning yet.

piers (piers), Saturday, 9 October 2004 00:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i cant explain it, but Island period tom waits is really great cleaning music. waitaminnit, maybe i can explain it, tom waits is great music for pretty much doing anything, or nothing for that matter. (sorry, i happened to catch the last 3/4 of the waits interview on fresh air today and was overwhelmed by what a national treasure this wonderfully peculiar artist is for america).

j.m. lockery (j.m. lockery), Saturday, 9 October 2004 00:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I listened to Steely Dan - Countdown To Ecstasy while scrubbing out the fridge this afternoon.

I usually listen to Morrissey while doing dishes; lately Bona Drag, Early Burglary Years and Your Arsenal.

Adam Bruneau (oliver8bit), Saturday, 9 October 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel about Motorhead the way Rebecca feels about 'Evolution: The Hits.'

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 10 October 2004 00:36 (twenty-one years ago)

My favorite bathroom-cleaning music was a Mohammed Abdo bootleg, which I lost several years back and probably can't ever replace. (For starters, I don't know the titles of the songs, or where or when it was recorded.)

Rockist_Scientist (rockist_scientist), Sunday, 10 October 2004 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

My Bloody Valentine is good as you don't notice at all the roar of the vacuum. Blends right in.

rebecca s (rebecca S), Sunday, 10 October 2004 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

!!! - louden up now is MADE FOR CLEANING.

cutty (mcutt), Sunday, 10 October 2004 01:17 (twenty-one years ago)

see, I'm into anything unhappy but still somewhat peppy to clean to--The Smiths are perfect. So's Robert Johnson. For a while the only way I could get my roommate to do the dishes was Abba Gold, though. Oh, man.

poop (poop), Monday, 11 October 2004 04:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I cleaned to Pedestrian Deposit's 'Debilitant' tape.

It's about an hour of noise not too disimilar from what you'd imagine being on the outside of an aeroplane would sound like.

Sasha (sgh), Monday, 11 October 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

seven months pass...
cleaning up my dorm room for the last time. it is a total mess. papers from my senior thesis everywhere, coffee cups, tissues, beer bottles, CDs (many w broken cases - i really should keep them off the floor - and an assortment of dirty and clean clothing, all over the place. What should I listen to. I have an avalanches live mix I found lined up, but I need something more. Help me out. What do you clean to?

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Friday, 13 May 2005 19:08 (twenty years ago)

Ooh, if you're moving I recommend Richard Youngs' Sapphie, so you can sit down with four-year-old receipts and bask in the memories and have a single tear roll down your right cheek.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 13 May 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Every time I think of my lost Mohammed Abdo bootleg, it makes me really sad.

RS_LaRue (RSLaRue), Friday, 13 May 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

I don't clean my house.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Friday, 13 May 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Whose house do you clean? Do you keep going to the wrong address, what?

Masked Gazza, Friday, 13 May 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

I don't clean any house!

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

i dont understand house claening music. i love he idea of it, but when it comes to it, it is useless, drowned out by the sound of the hoover. this is why hoovering sucks. nothing can destory that din!

ambrose (ambrose), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:19 (twenty years ago)

Damaged by Black Flag.
-- Alex in NYC

haha I find this hilarious for some reason - I might just have to try that...

vanessa novaeris (novaeris), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:22 (twenty years ago)

lately, Richard Hell and the Voidoids - Destiny Street

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 13 May 2005 23:18 (twenty years ago)

Sonic Youth, Dirty. Seriously! It's always worked really well.

daria g (daria g), Saturday, 14 May 2005 01:36 (twenty years ago)

I try to get it all done in under an hour. I was very inspired by the new Autechre album yesterday, and plus that music scares the shit out of my cat, so I was able to get his litterbox area cleaned up without him nosing around and getting in my way.

edd s hurt (ddduncan), Saturday, 14 May 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

i dont understand house claening music.

"Lady, if you have to ask. . ."

RS, Saturday, 14 May 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

eight years pass...

today big star's "you can't have me" is the best song i've ever least listened to while cleaning, at least next to "desiree" by the left banke.
