Observations/thoughts:

Tego beat Dizzee
wtf fuck alicia keyes
haha Ja Rule got an award!?
"Right Thurr" is pretty bad
Ludacris hasn't done that much this year, other than his verse for "Yeah!" which was obviously a career highlight but still.

Other than that not bad.

Right Thurr fucking sucks.
The rest I don't really see a problem with.

Lil Jon, Kanye and Luda own, apparently.
Glad to see the Ying Yang Twins get artist of the year.

These award things always go a year back from the ceremony. The Black Album was released in November 2003 and is eligible by that rationale.

Makes sense to me.

Woo hoo! Elephant Man!

Ludacris is a weird choice though. I wasn't aware he'd had that much success in the last year.

Well I am certainly pleased somebody gave due props to "Clap Back," that song is rather incredible. Storch's beat is the tightest Neptunes rip off hands down. I also believe Ja just murders the track as his flow reaches previously unattained heights of awesomeness. I am afriad to hear the rest of "Blood in My Eye" though.
