What song makes you smile?
I need a smile...

I would say that mine is a 'dance' song titled "Pumping"
by an artist called Pumping David (who looks suspiciously like David Arquette)

And also any spinal tap recordings - Big Bottom, Sex Farm, STONEHENGE - are they not the greatest ever?
They get me happy too...

Kallista.F, Tuesday, 12 October 2004 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

There are countless songs that make me very happy but that aren't in themselves categorically happy songs. But, in terms of songs that are happy that do likewise make me happy, I'd have to say....

"When You're Near Me I Have Difficulty" by XTC
"Love Her All I Can" by Kiss
Several tracks by the Cocteau Twins whose titles ultimately tell you nothing.
"Don't Talk Just Kiss" by the Wedding Present
"The Curese of Millhaven" by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (not so much happy as malevolently jolly).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

"Uncontrollable Urge", "Praying Hands" and "Jocko Homo" by Devo NEVER fail to raise my spirits significantly.

"Heavenly Pop Hit" by The Chills.

I haven't heard and hadn't thought of this song in years, but it popped into my head the second I read the thread title.

Germany's Fun-Loving Beer (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

"I'm Walking On Sunshine" - Katrina and the Waves (I R Lame). Mostly because it was used in one of Letterman's best skits, Dave and Paul's Gay Vacation, and that's what makes me happy.
