SLINT REFORM TO CURATE ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES, 2005

All Tomorrow's Parties are very proud to announce that legendary Louisville, KY musical pioneers Slint will surprise and delight fans by reuniting to perform at and curate the first weekend of All Tomorrow's Parties of 2005, on February 25th, 26th and 27th at Camber Sands Holiday Centre, East Sussex, UK.

Core Slint members Brian McMahan, David Pajo and Britt Walford will be selecting an eclectic line-up for the weekend and will themselves be playing music from their albums "Tweez" and "Spiderland" as well as the posthumous untitled ten-inch single. Soon after the 1991 release of the acclaimed "Spiderland," Slint disbanded but their remarkable music went on to inspire and influence an ever-widening legion of fans. Now, for the first time since their separation, Slint returns for this very special edition of All Tomorrow's Parties.

The response to rumours of this extraordinary performance has indicated tickets will go fast, so DO NOT wait around. Tickets go on sale on Friday 15th October, 10am GMT. Full line-up details will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets are priced at £120, including a 3-day festival pass and 3 nights accommodation. Ticket includes performances starting from mid-afternoon with bars and DJ sets through till dawn, plus three nights in a self-catering chalet accommodation all with private bathroom suites. Onsite facilities include an indoor swimming pool, mini-golf, go-karting, restaurants & fast food outlets as well as a supermarket and off-license.

Camber Sands is approximately 60 miles from London, or around an hour and half drive. Alternatively, a train into Rye Village and then a short bus journey can reach the site.

Tickets for All Tomorrow’s Parties can be purchased directly through www.atpfestival.com and are available in blocks of 4,5,6,7 or 8 due to the specifications of the accommodation.

Tickets can be purchased in person from Stargreen Box Office/0207 - 734 8932/20a Argyll Street, London/www.stargreen.com, Piccadilly Box Office/0161 - 832 1111/www.ticketline.co.uk, Easynet Internet Café, St Anne’s Square, Manchester or Radio City Box Office, St Johns Centre, Houghton Street Entrance, Liverpool.

Neil, I love ya, but you might have wanted to mention Slint in the subject line. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 13:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah,you're right. I think I'll repost.
I just couldn't believe it wasn't up already so I was hedging my bets somewhat.
Makes you wonder though - are they gonna work on new stuff to play? Are they gonna try and replicate every single scrape and prang of say 'Good Morning Captain'? Whatever, this is not to be missed surely.

Neil Kulkarni, Tuesday, 12 October 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Thank you moderator!! You rule!!

*bows*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Personally I think they should go the Wire 1980 route and just play new songs that nobody has heard of that barely sound like anything they've recorded before.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm guessing there might be one main flaw in that plan

DJ Mencap0))), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Hush now. Let me dream.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Ho. Lee. Shit.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

the UK gets SLINT and the US gets Modest fucking Mouse? FUCK THIS SHIT!!!!

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Slint played at my high school's Battle of the Bands. They took FOREVER to set up their stuff. And then they kicked everyone's ass.

OTM. Ridiculous.

frankE (frankE), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I so have to go, it'll be a logistical nightmare getting there from Edinburgh, but wild horses wouldn't hold me back from seeing Slint. My only problem is persuading 3 other people to come with me.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I wanna go.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Good. It makes my moving to London in the throes of winter a slightly sunnier prospect.

Thea (Thea), Tuesday, 12 October 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

So it's only 3 of them?

hmmm (hmmm), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Tix ordered - grebt!

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 15 October 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, Thea, you're moving? :-( Too many cool people leaving the LA area!

Even Kinghorse's?!!? Hahahahaha.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 15 October 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw, Ned.

Bizarrely, even since I posted that yesterday, it's looking far less likely that London's happening. I always knew you were a wizard, N.R.

Thea (Thea), Friday, 15 October 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Mystical! (And you are to drag all your friends and especially Eric to the _Apple_/_Xanadu_ screening, please.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe news of the Slint reunion was first broken in an amusing way on this thread.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Soon after the 1991 release of the acclaimed "Spiderland," Slint disbanded but their remarkable music went on to inspire and influence an ever-widening legion of fans.

And those fans went on to make bands that all broke up around 1998.

David Allen (David Allen), Saturday, 16 October 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

three weeks pass...
This event has sold out already, with only one band of the whole weekend's lineup announced so far!

Glad I booked my little chalet early :)

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 8 November 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Foundation are dicks. Really wanted to go, but after this years Mogwai/Tortoise/Slint debacle (couldn't even give away the final ticket) I wasn't going to book a chalet without finding out the rest of the line-up. Wonder if they ever considered announcing the whole bill at the same time? Hello?

Ben Dot (1977), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)
