My mate, who is a social worker, was defending the street tuff of the Cockney Rejects on the basis that their bass player 'ran' with West Ham's Inter City Firm

His boss, who is an 'approved' social worker (i.e. he can section people) reckoned those misogynist, so called 'punks', the Stranglers would have the Rejects in a 'toe to toe'.

All I could suggest as potential winners in this healthy debate was those frowning shredders Suicidal Tendencies.

I understand that jazzscreamoxxxedge types such as Dillinger Escape Plan have 'muscles' but I reckon that they would run a mile in a proper street 'off'.

Anybody care to add to this?

Simple Minds in the mid-80's certainly looked the part. You know - pastel shaded v-necks, burgundy slip-ons with a gilt buckle and serious side sheds. Dead hard. Watching the Scottish casuals of that time was like seeing Haircut 100 going at it with Kajagoogoo.
