"Kimya and Adam join forces in a benefit for Accidental Records, a 24-hour independent store on Avenue A that supported them big-time back in the day. Opening: the Pharmacy, young Seattle punks trekking cross-country for one show just like the Peaches did in hazy old 1999." - THE VILLAGE VOICE
"Although Kimya Dawson and Adam Green have been busy performing solo, they haven't teamed up for a Moldy Peaches show since two years ago (CMJ, 2002, actually). This benefit for Accidental Records has lured the band out of semi-retirement. If they're as fun now as they were a couple of years back, it's well worth the trip to Red Hook." - TIME OUT NY
[ THE MOLDY PEACHES ]
The Moldy Peaches play tonight for the first time in over two years. "Moldy Peaches songs meander all over the musical map, from hiphop to metal, from power pop to acoustic folk, and their lyrics express the delusional ravings of scatologically obsessed, sex-crazed stoners. But who can resist a band that rhymes "peenie" with "vageenie"? A sugary-cereal-and-Jolt-cola-powered bonanza of popcult references, silly dances and tripped-out sex dreams. They play simple, fun, wacky and catchy songs. They aren't (at first glance anyway) usually deep in thought, and are often vulgar, but that’s what makes them so fun. They play catchy tunes that are often absurd and gloriously sloppy in delivery, but you just can’t help but love them." - York Vision Online

[ THE PHARMACY ]
The Pharmacy are punk rawk kids from Vashon Island, Washington State - tearin' it up NY style for their first time tonight. They describe themselves as "gypsy synth punk played by ninja turtles or Gnarlitron - Rad-a-Saurus vs. the Gnarlitronic Funk Bots." and giving this bio for your perusal --> "Formed when a giant meteor hit earth's crust in the year 2099, causing everyone to die a slow, agonizing death while their skin melted and their eyes diminished into liquid death and congealed blood. Using a giant time machine that they built out of used roller-skates and race-cars, they traveled back in time to/around the year 2000 and started playing music to kids who "only lived to get radical", in hopes of educating the masses about the giant meteor and the face melting death that was soon to come. Legend has it that the music they play is none other than the blood-curdling screams and deathly-cries of the billions of people who were burnt to a firery, flesh-melting death by the massive meteor. FIN" The Pharmacy brings to mind the diseparate sonic images of Lost Sounds, Tom Waits, the Screamers, Credence Clearwater Revival, etc. Sounds like a party.
