Autumn's Disaster

"So sick of bands hiding behind distortion, the duo behind Autumn's Disaster came together in the Summer of 2004 to form something raw. A unique style of vocals backed by the beautiful and natural sounds of acoustic guitar and bass. The duo is currently working on a demo with four tracks already recorded with topics ranging from lost friends to falling in love to being homesick."

goooooodness. beat that. and i happen to be playing (tongue firmly contained within cheek) at the same battle of the bands. we were thinking of calling ourself Spring's Day that Will Live in Infamy, but finally decided on the Cutiest Puppy. but thats beside the point. its Autumn's Disaster that deserves the glory.

We played with a Philly band called April Disaster once or twice. They were pretty decent.

Their website is pretty annoying.

I generally find it either deluded or disingenuous when band bios talk about how the band was tired of all the bands doing x style so they did something completely different. Contemporary music offers so many different stylistic outlets that it's rather silly to think you're rebelling by not "hiding behind distortion".

They'd be cooler if they were distorting all acoustic instruments.

Or distorting our perceptions of reality.

Her singing makes me want to hide behind distortion.

That's almost so bad it's good. Or at least it's bad in a subtly strange and interesting way.

When reading a band bio, as soon as I get to the part where they insult other music (sometimes ALL other music) I sigh heavily and try to think of something else I should be doing.

Rick Massimo (Rick Massimo), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought we already established in the "How do you write a good band bio?" thread that it is IMPOSSIBLE to write a good band bio.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 15 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Unless you're a black metal band. Those fuckers have KILLER BADASS band bios.
