Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Saturday, 16 October 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

interesting concept for a mix...i haven't heard anything on it.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 16 October 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

oh well. i will make a copy for somebody if they want it.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Saturday, 16 October 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it looks great, it's all over the map - just the way a good comp should be.

I'd take a copy, are you looking for a trade or just being generous?

Garibaldianne (Garibaldianne), Saturday, 16 October 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Add: "I'd Love to Knock the Hell Out of You," Hank Williams Jr.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 17 October 2004 05:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Fritz, I want a copy!

Moosie Grosvenor (Arthur), Monday, 2 May 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

arthur, how did you find this thread? email me your mailing address & I'll send you one.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Monday, 2 May 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

Ha! I thought you'd be wondering. I finally got the Keren Ann album and I was going back and looking at all the threads that mentioned her. I'm really liking it so far--that Scott Seward thread about her really says it all.

Also-isn't "87 Sundays" the most heartbreaking song ever? That whole "dark side of Swinging London" thing, working at the "new coffee bar where there all a little mad" despite her deep depression, the way she tosses off the "baby looked a lot like you/was pale and never cried" and then it dies! I bet Morrissey would've killed to have written it. It's so Shelagh Delaney.

Moosie Grosvenor (Arthur), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 02:52 (twenty years ago)

ha! I always thought it was "the new coffee bar with the old little man", but your version makes way more sense! But yeah, that dark side o swingin' london is awesome - like "young girl blues" by donovan...

as for keren ann, i'm not that into "Nolita" so far... but I love "I'm Not Going Anywhere" & "Lady & Bird". have you heard much bertrand burgalat? his version of amanda lear's "follow me" is great.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 14:20 (twenty years ago)

(could you make me a copy, fritz?)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

yeah sure julio, email me... but i think i might add a few things to it too.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

that's cool- I'll mail you later when i get home - thanks.
