Benevento is the organ dude, Russo is the drum dude.

Granted, their debut album doesn't come out until January, but honestly, people here be talking about all kinds of other crazy shit nobody's ever heard of, so I figure they're fair game.

Has anybody besides me seen/heard these badasses before?

I saw them this weekend at a little tiny place in Asheville, NC. They smoked the place. Lame disenchanted hippy kids were spazzing like those straightedge hardcore kids in that Acid Mothers Temple gif. It were a sight to behold.

i saw these cats in Portland. v. v. impressive drumming, but even that couldn't cut through the thick layer of semi-ironic-authentically-depressed apathy exuded by PDX (just kidding ... kind of) to the extent that you describe

i would have liked to see them stretch out a little bit and explore some diff. textures/feels, but they did a kind of MMW on overdrive thing quite nicely! they felt quite rock -- not as much late milesish rhythmic complexity. still, not to sound too critical; they put on a fine show
