Anyone going? Anyone have an extra ticket for me?

I so wish I was going. Alas, I am not. Have fun if you go, Mary!!!!

I really want to go, but I just got back this morning from Chicago-Milwaukee-Detroit, and am afraid I will fall asleep before the show. The fact that it's at Irving Plaza is not a big draw either.

Hey, what's wrong with Irving Plaza? Saw some of the best shows of my life there -- it's a helluva lot better than Roseland. Alright, yes, Bowery Ballroom is way better, but still...Irving Plaza is one of the last of the old guard.

The sound at Irving is better than Bowery, though.

Oi! Second night of CRAMPS in a row for me.

Alex, you corporate whore, must I explain to you the ramifications of the Clear Channel–sponored hell that is I.P.?

I don't worry about that shit. If a band I like/espouse/am curious about is playing there -- I go. Over the years, at IP, I witnessed: The Ramones, Suicidal Tendencies, the Wedding Present, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Cop Shoot Cop, Foetus, James, Nick Cave & the Bad Sees, Curve, Echo & the Bunnymen, Lush, Man or Astroman, Skeleton Key, Fishbone and about seven dozen more I can't recall at the moment. The place is fine by me.

This Clear Channel business is even worse than I thought!

You're a bag of rancid feces, adam.

I am going tonight (heading over in a couple minutes I supppose), but probably leaving after the Gore Gore Girls are done, since they will doubtlessly blow the Cramps off stage (which is nothing against the Cramps, who I'm sure would be mildly entertaining if I wasn't so sleepy despite their not having made a decent album for a couple decades or more. The Gore Gore Girls would blow just about *anybody* of the stage. It's sort of their job. "All Grown Up" and "Sweet Potato" on their immminent new EP must be heard to be believed.)

Very nice of you to say so, old chap.

Aww, the poor Brimstone guy broke his ankle.

Saw the Cramps in Boston on Saturday, but arrived too late for the Gore Gore Girls -- d'oh! Is it just me or is Lux turning somewhat ... professional? This is a guy I remember stripping down to red garters and fishnets and climbing the speaker columns years ago. Now he doesn't do anything past putting the mic in his mouth.
