Does anyone else have this?
It's not as good as Poney.
But then it couldn't really be could it?

Debord (Debord), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

has this leaked yet??

:|, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

the radio rip that is on slsk sounds a bit too silures-y for me.

:|, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

minus the girl.

:|, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

also, richard bartz is the new old vitailc.

:|, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a Vinyl copy.
I just listened to it again actually, it's quite fierce.
I think a few people have it - I heard the (ever wonderful) Outlaws play it at the weekend too.

Debord (Debord), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

it has leaked out as a vinyl 12" available from all good record shops. isn't 21st century technology wonderful!

stirmonster, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

they shuold sell it on tape too. and fucking shellac.

:|, Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

is this the one tha goes "fanfare number 1, fanfare number 2"?

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

cos if so it's fantastic.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah this rocks!! vitalic + marching drums = insanity

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

this is actually really, really good. like *really* good.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

toby otm!! please to hear this in a club soon please.

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 17:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to hear it asap.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm sharing it on slsk

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

what's yr id? i'm having MAJOR trouble with being able to browse peoples files lately.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm littlebopete. i've got the same radio rip as other ppl. otherwise there's always gmail... (i am going to buy the record tomorrow, btw, honest)

i just listened to this track 4 times in a row. hooray!

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

what about the other tracks?

Mil (Mil), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

anyone else care to act all excited by this fantastic record???

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 22 October 2004 10:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm astonished that no-one else is excited by this. i turned my laptop on on the plane yesterday purely to hear this a couple of times. it's that good.

has anyone heard the rest of the record? i'd buy it, but i'm a few thousand miles away from my record player right now (and probably from the nearest copy of this record, anyway).

toby (tsg20), Friday, 22 October 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

dudes as soon as I get it I'll be excited.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 22 October 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

ok after half a dozen listens i can saefly say that i dont like this. the marchign drums on the first track distract from the kickdrum and maek it undanceable. the 60s organ on the secodn track is just silly, the beat is lame. and the last track is a shrill overproduced mess.

:|, Saturday, 23 October 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

my opinion may chagne by 180° next wendesday. i asume dj hell is going to play some of this.

:|, Saturday, 23 October 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Will Vitalic release an album in 2005?

DJ Martian (djmartian), Saturday, 23 October 2004 16:41 (twenty-one years ago)

oh my god.....fanfares is absolutely crazy!

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 23 October 2004 17:20 (twenty-one years ago)

it sounds like a psycho horror movie theme!

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 23 October 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

it reminds me alot of David Holmes' monumental remix of "Smokebelch".

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 23 October 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't think of any other track which actually fits the phrase "dance track" better than this. it's not a piece of music, it's just several ridiculous sounds jarred together for people to jump around to. so minimal and amazing, I can't wait to hear this played out.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 24 October 2004 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

me too. again, has anyone heard anything else from the ep yet?!

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 24 October 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

?

theres more than three tracks?

:|, Sunday, 24 October 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

? i meant "wood" and "candy", has anyone heard them?

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 24 October 2004 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

candy = the fanfares radio rip track. theyre all on slsk.

:|, Sunday, 24 October 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, well in that case i haven't heard fanfares! i've only heard that radio rip.

i can't run slsk for a week because i'm using someone else's work internet - is anyone prepared to gmail the tracks to me?! please?

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 24 October 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

the album is done and will be coming out on PIAS, apparently.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 25 October 2004 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
Candy is astonishing too - its like the exact middle ground between scuzzy Laurent Garnier electro-house and big girly trance. That panning noise at the beginning is great and the bit when the rising melody comes in and then it goes all soft and melodic for a bit before kicking back in with dirty... aaaaah.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

:-( wah, no filesharing for me

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure I can find SECRET and ARCANE ways of getting this through to you.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

well i've already downloaded that polish boyfriend track if it helps. heeeeee

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Matthew, you have my attention also (did you get my present in the mail last week?).

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
Every time I hear the "fanfare-number-one-and-two" bit I do this three-year-old-child noise of pure happiness, its like an involuntary tic now.

(Also why is no-one on this taking about the SILVER COIN noise? It's the best bit!)

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

it's not a piece of music, it's just several ridiculous sounds jarred together for people to jump around to.

Every time I listen to it, I think of this.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I have heard it out twice now, dancing to it is a truly cathartic experience.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

where is a serious dj, who really aims playing this.

:| (....), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:09 (twenty-one years ago)

itunes randomly started playing this song right when i clicked on this thread.
creepy.

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

and its available in the itunes store which is also strange

hector (hector), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i danced like a maniac to this on saturday at optimo (edinburgh).

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Optimo Edinburgh? What new madness is this? Are you still coming to ye olde Glasgow one this Sunday?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:31 (twenty-one years ago)

i am indeed - the edinburgh one is just a once every couple of months thing.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:42 (twenty-one years ago)

the venue has great lazer beam lights tho.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:43 (twenty-one years ago)

who have you seen play it out, ronan? we were hoping to hear it at fabric the other night but didn't, sadly.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:02 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yes!

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

OH YES

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

My friend Phil played it at our club once, and at a different gig he did about 2 weeks ago. nobody famous has played it yet.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

no one went to see him in NYC on nov. 20 i take it? and i'm guessing the peel spot on dec. 22 is off, for obvious reasons.

"fanfares" is en route to me. can't wait! and can't wait to play it at our little club night here.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

no one went to see him in NYC on nov. 20 i take it?

i think geeta did.

:| (....), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

:| (....), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

im a bit envious btw.

:| (....), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

live he is awesome, just awesome.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

more details for those of us in flyover land, geeta! i'm envious too.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i still haven't seen him live

i still haven't heard this record played *anywhere*
