wtf happened to crucial conflict?!

I remember this kid named Earnest I think who would always say their name real loud in class back in middle school and the teachers would try to hush him but he'd be all "crucialconflict! HAYYYYYY" and the class would laugh. He was always nice to me even though I was a dork, but he was usually more busy antagonizing teachers.

Anyway, what the fuck happened to these guys? I mean, at least bone thugs have tried to keep releasing music. I feel like as a Chicagoan I should know where they are but maybe I just haven't been keeping my ear to the streets enough. Although I am at school out of state.

Anyway here are some more pictures of crucial conflict in strange places that are clearly not the west side of chicago. And wtf was up with the overalls?

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Friday, 22 October 2004 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i never understood why the box came in on regular (non cable) tv in milwaukee. it ruled tho. i remember the crucial conflict single, but i forgot what it was called.

"Hay"

I loved the box for that reason, incidently! Its how I saw music videos when I was a kid cuz we never had cable. When I stayed home sick from school my mom would be at work and so I'd watch all the videos on the box - Dre, 2pac, Snoop were on all the time. It was great.

the only thing would be the same video got played over and over. i remember really watching the box a lot in grade school when all the no limit stuff was huge

Yeah, I used to get The Box in DC (I assume this channel was mainly in heavily black cable markets). I even remember when it was called Jukebox Network. I vaguely remember Crucial Conflict, and my memory of the single just suddenly smacked me in the head "Hay! In the middle of a barn!" Sort of an early crunk/bounce kind of tune right?

Box was also great because it'd show borderline R-rated videos like Mix-A-Lot's "Put Em On Da Glass" and 2 Live Crew's "Pop Dat Coochie"

Did they do "Showdown" also or was that somebody else? (Best-a lay it down on the ground, IT'S A SHOWDOWN/Don't you come around tryina clown IT'S A SHOWDOWN)

I like the picture of them lookin' gully in at the rustic dinner table.

Hurting (Hurting), Friday, 22 October 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

i remember seeing MC Eiht "All For the Money", and Bone "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" over and over and over. and Do or Die "Po Pimpin"

I actually saw the first Vanilla Ice follow-up single on the box! It was called "Roll em up" or some such thing and it started with a disclaimer where Ice said he in no way endorsed the smoking of marijuanna. Then he did his best Cypress Hill impression.

Final Tic is a pretty solid record -- if this came out now it would probably be pushed all over the place by Flosstrodamus or some such
