Burned Mind. I can't headbang to Creature Comforts.

DOPESMOKER (smile), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

creature comforts

peter smith (plsmith), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't do anything to creature comforts. no ass at all.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

burned mind.

fuck a creature comforts. nothing black dice have done since beaches & canyons is all that worthwhile. (it could also be argued that nothing they did before was particularly worthwhile, but i like those first three 7"s.)

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't even really like Wolf Eyes, but Burned Mind has GOT to be better than Creature Comforts.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Burned Mind!

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ian John50n: Not even the Cone Toaster 12"?

DOPESMOKER (smile), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Cone Toaster is alright, but not that great. I don't like dancing, though.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Creature Comforts.

Clusterfuck at the Baja Fresh Salsa Bar (Ben Boyer), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I like to fall asleep to Creature Comforts. Although I like Burned Mind, I haven't found any part of my day where I want to put it on and listen to it.

Clusterfuck at the Baja Fresh Salsa Bar (Ben Boyer), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Creature Comforts

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe its time for you to appear on "I LOVE THE 90S"

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Burned Mind = where Wolf Eyes get their shit together and put out the great record they often hint at.

Creature Comforts = Black Dice losing their minds and recording an hour of bong gurgling.

I prefer Burned Mind. The more shocking thing is that I prefer it to Seadrum. The world has gone crazy.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Seadrum is not an album.

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Why not? Do you consider REBORE VOL. 0 an album?

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

2 songs is only an album if your name is TERRY RILEY

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

You didn't answer my other question.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I do consider Rebore 0 an album.

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

But techinically you're right: "Seadrum" is not an album. It's the first song on the album. ;-D

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

yez

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

It's forty minutes long! And what's with the you-can't-compare-albums-to-non-albums rockism? ROCKIST!

I just feel that ILM has gone too long without willy nilly accusations of rockism.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I call bullshit. 2 songs is not an album.

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

But as you state upthread: one song is.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

One of the people in Smegma is "named" Burned Mind--is Creature Comforts trying to take his place/take him out?

Stephen Boyle (SBoyle), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Gygax! Rebore 0 has like 9 tracks

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't do anything to creature comforts. no ass at all.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 28 October 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

black dice are like zoviet france for dumb people. burned mind is the shit though, I haven't been that scared by a record since I was a kid and heard an neubauten's Halbe Mensch. So Burned Mind wins.

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 28 October 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Toshiya Tsunoda's "Scenery of Decalcomania" wins.

Drew Daniel, Thursday, 28 October 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

"The Beast"

Russell (Russell), Thursday, 28 October 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

About 25 -30 % of "Burned Mind" is good.
About 55 - 65 % of "Creature Comforts" is good. Half of that is "Skeleton" (which rules).

So, CC >> BM
(and I'm no hata, I do like both bands)
