Actually, that looks pretty damned painful. I think I would have gone home too.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Sunday, 24 October 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

The thread title should have been 'For only fan of Nickelback'

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 24 October 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I actually felt sorry for them. People are mean. I mean, we have to put up with non-smoking ordinances in NYC bars, why can't Europe put up with a little Nickelback?

maria b (maria b), Sunday, 24 October 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Nickelback's so Americanized now. Were the still only famous in Canada, they would have apologized and started playing audience requests.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 24 October 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

When did James Hetfield start fronting Nickelback anyway?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 24 October 2004 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

CHAD KROEGER:

"DO YOU GUYS WANT TO HEAR SOME ROCK AND ROLL OR DO YOU WANT TO GO HOME?"

AUDIENCE (in Portuguese): "YES WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SOME ROCK AND ROLL, SO WHY HAVEN'T WE HEARD ANY YET?"

latebloomer (latebloomer), Sunday, 24 October 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Aww man, they throw rocks in portugal? My band has to play there.

David Allen (David Allen), Sunday, 24 October 2004 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Were the [sic] still only famous in Canada

I just want to point out that after their breakthrough album came out, all they did was bitch to the press that nobody gave a shit aboot them in Canada 'til they were huge in the states.

Vic Funk, Sunday, 24 October 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, they're pretty ungrateful for just about everything, aren't they?

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 24 October 2004 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

By the third time I watched it, I was actually feeling a little sorry for old Chad. That clip is dangerous!

papa november (papa november), Sunday, 24 October 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Aww man, they throw rocks in portugal? My band has to play there.

Well, does your band play ROCK'N'ROLL?

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Sunday, 24 October 2004 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 10:07 (eighteen years ago)

I get the feeling I am being very stupid, but 'Rockstar' has left me confused. It is presumably trying to be satirical of this decadent rockstar lifestyle (without actually making a comment on it), but... why have the people in the video agreed to appear in something that satirises them so humourlessly? It's not like they could be thinking "well this is making fun of me, but yeah, I am a bit silly, and it's funny, so sure", so... why!

Merdeyeux, Thursday, 20 December 2007 01:58 (eighteen years ago)

funny how that link is still appropriate for the thread title

Edward III, Thursday, 20 December 2007 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

the best thing about "Rockstar" is that they censor the word "drugs"

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 20 December 2007 06:16 (eighteen years ago)

I love this song!
