Wow! Is this the third Frusciante album this year? I loved "Shadows Collide With People", then was a little turned off by reviews that greeted whatever album followed it? Thought SCWPeople had something of the the ragged beauty and fragile spirit of "Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt" but sort of cleaned up, lucid and able to hold a conversation with you.

I really need to catch up on all this year's albums from him at some point. Maybe with Xmas money at this rate.

You'd love Shadows Collide Ned.

And seek out the 6 "Brown Bunny" soundtrack songs, which aren't on anything else (Japanese import CD that's super pricey, thought they are all over S0u1s3eK...)
Anyway, yeah, I am obsessed with his '04 output.

Magnet has an interesting interview with him this month, where he discusses how he fell in with the Fugazi crew (basically following them around when they last toured, asking Ian questions about the recording of "Red Medicine" -- he was apparently blown away by how cheaply they recorded it, after years doing excess-laden Rick Rubin produced albums).
