Does the google engine on for ILM work well for you?

I feel like it's missing a lot of threads from it when you search.

Go straight to the internal search engine, I wouldn't bother with either the google or alltheweb options -- they were installed as options during a time when the search function was causing problems or strain of some sort, but all the upgrades have pretty much taken care of that. That said, if Andrew or any of the programmers have any further thoughts...?

The Alltheweb search actually works pretty well.

It always seemed catch as catch can to me in the past, though admittedly I've not used it in well over a year now.

The alltheweb one used to work OK, and had the advantage of allowing phrase searching and searching for words less than four letters long (which the internal one only allows for title searches). But since the move onto p3r.net, I've found it's pretty much useless.

Other advantage: it didn't seize up and die/make the server fall over when you used vaguely common words as part of your search.

Is there any chance of the ILE search being upgraded at any point?
