I always find it a little disconcerting that the RIP threads often almost completely consists of a string of expletives. I realize people are registering their initial shock and sadness, but it doesn't seem appropriate. Maybe it's a generational thing. I admit I can be a little inconsistent about obscenity. I'm certainly not against it. But as an expression of mourning?

personally when someone of reverence passes i don't feel like i have to curse or just echo what someone has already said or state the obvious, but it's not for me to judge others on how they express grief
