Lord of the Rings OST - much cop?

Anyone else heard it ? Do my ears deceive me or is Liz Frazier on there somewhere?

First thing i notice is that its not as "whistleable" (?) as other classical soundtracks ive heard....

I think its a tad too complex for my Danny Elfman and John Williams trained palatte....

But its certainly a very emotive and expressive piece of work... remains to be seen whether it dovetails well with the onscreen action!

Word up.

All I know is that it has lots of Enya on it -- that was enough to put me off. If the soundtrack sounds interesting when I finally see the movie tuesday night, I might buy it. But then again it would still have Enya...

It also has some Liz Frasier, though, so there's hope. *crosses fingers*

Is it just me, or do you think it's meant to copy the Hans Zimmer/Lisa Gerard soundtrack formula? After all, it does feature an old 4ad girlie singer, plus other ethereal singers.

Heh heh heh. That may well be the plan here.

Sounds painful. And predictable. Another reason not to see the movie. (And I love the Cocteaus - but I think it's Robin Guthrie that I like.)
