The new Pavement reissue is the best thing I've bought all year

The bonus tracks are just as good as the original album. Now it's like having three new Crooked-era Pavement albums. The best release I've bought this year, along with the new London Calling (although the CRCR bonus cuts are much better than the Vanilla tapes).

i'm enjoying it and all, but what does it say that my favorite "outtakes" are the songs that ended up on wowee zowee?

Ha, I kinda felt that way, too -- or at least hearing them convinced me that Wowee Zowee probably IS my favorite Pavement album.

Hm, the b-sides on disc one are good, but disc 2 sounds pretty worthless to me (except for the first track).

I haven't heard the Crooked Rain reissue. The best reissue I've heard all year is the first Swell Maps record.

four years pass...

"Oddity" on the BTC reissue sounds uncannily like Blur... but this was before Blur started banging on about how much they liked Pavement, no?

Also - Swallows In The Heatwave / Starlings In The Slipstream... is this intentional?
