The red don't use no iPods. Better luck with music of praise, worship and bringing in the sheaves.

Toby Keith - "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue"

(let's face it, this may as well replace the national anthem)

or:

Joe Nichols - "If Nobody Believed in You"

(which is basically about GOD and school prayer)

Oh, god, I saw the video for that. The song's bad enough. The video is worse. One scene shows this decrepit old guy wanting to drive a car and his son won't let him (the meanie!) So the old guy mopes about with good ole' bemulleted Joe looking on and shaking his head. Hey Joe: Bet you wouldn't think that way if gramps got in his big ass Cadillac and took out your family because he can't see. Fucker.

randy newman, "political science"

(lyrics from memory since i refuse for health reasons to go to lyric sites)

no one likes us
i don't know why
we may not be perfect
but heaven knows we try
and all around, even our old friends put us down
let's drop the big one and see what happens

we give them money
but are they grateful?
no they're spiteful
and they're hateful
they all ignore us so let's surprise 'em
let's drop the big one and pulverize them

asia's crowded
and europe's too old
africa is far too hot
and canada's too cold
and south america stole our name
let's drop the big one
they'll be no one left to blame us

we'll save australia
don't want to hurt no kangaroos
we'll build an all-american amusement park there
they got surfing too

boom goes london
and boom par-ee
more room for you
and more room for me
and every city this whole world round
will just be one great big american town
oh how peaceful it will be
we'll set everybody free
you'll wear a japanese kimono
it'll be italian shoes for me
they all hate us anyhow
so let's drop the big one now
let's drop the big one now

Ever since Tuesday, I can't seem to get Linus of Hollywood's "Whole New Country" outta my brain:

Gotta find a place to go
Far away from what we know
Maybe we should start a whole new country
Paradise across the sea
Population: you and me
We don't need no job, no car, no money

With all the love between us
We'll find where we belong
The kind of life we dream of is waiting
When we start a whole new country
And only we can come

Waterfalls and sugarcane
Taking sips of sweet champagne
Making love beneath the yellow moonlight
Holding hands and "I love you"'s
Sunny skies and ocean blue
Honey come on in, the water's just right

With all the love between us
We'll find where we belong
The kind of life we dream of is waiting
When we start a whole new country
And only we can come

Start a whole new country and only we can come
Start a whole new country and only we can come
