Lyrics are something like: "How can I/How can I/Dream of you/When you're always by my side?/Go away/Go away/Go away stop wasting my time"

1) The version I heard was with what sounded like a german accent and a minimal drum machine beat. Who is this?

2) Was the song written/originally performed by someone else? The lyrics sound about 100 times more clever than the stupid arrangement and hammed-up ironic understatement of the singer.
