I dunno. Is it irony? The video seemed 'sincere'.

My impression: Throughout the latre sixties/early seventies, Nixon seemed to be the embodiment of how the majority liked to see themselves. That seems to be the job of the president. Of course, one watergate happened, they all turned their back on him. The man stepping into the plane waving two victory hand signals wasnow a clown figure, like he always was to the 'hip' population.

I don't know Mark, you might be right. Can't imagine them being Nixon sympathisers - the lyrics are fairly bad.
