oh no. Now they will have to RELEASE THE ALBUM! before they have done the RINGTONES? no but almost.

yep it's ridiculous. we've probably covered this, but the era of the music press circa 2001-2003 looked about as dated as charles shaar murray did whezzing on about dylan while the clash were all the go.
or same. most memorable have been things like Q's review of the strokes' year in january last, where they posited the notion that because no-one bought the album they had dropped in popularity, despite them selling out earls court and such. were they not allowed to entertain the thought that everyone downloaded the record? did it not occur? were they pretending it hadn't actually happened?

at least the nme is trying to keeping up with this 'tracks' as opposed to 'singles' reviews caper but it still feels like they follow rather than lead. meanwhile WORD of all things is still the most net friendly mainstream music mag!!

what's to become of them?
