Yeah, I definitely voted either for the records I still really really love now or records that I loved then and felt I really wanted to place well. That said, my top 7 records (excepting perhaps the DB mix) thing would definitely have been very near if not in my top 20 at the end of the 90s.

thanks jed - I forgot about smog when i compiled the list! I haven't heard the scott walker and not that talk talk album but I should get round to those (I really like 'spirit of eden'). As for Pole I've enjoyed it but the thing with his stuff is that it would be one of the greatest singles evah, it kind of loses its appeal over a whole album.

I definitely think the failure of ANY US dance music to make the poll is the biggest omission. In terms of individual albums, I'd stand by my placing "The Infamous" and "Lazer guided melodies" so high, and wish they'd got into the poll. Looking at my list, it's very allergic to rock, but then there was no good rock in the 90s, so I guess that's fair.
