As for "Strangelove" itself, the 'Midi mix' is great cause it sorta invents microhouse. But let me listen to the single here in a bit and say more.

I also love the Thomas Brinkmann mix of "I Feel Loved". I'm not at all a completist fan but even I know enough good DM mixes offhand to make a fourth or fifth disc for that comp.

From what I can remember that is; I'm not sure. I've just moved out of my girlfriend's place with only a handful of CDs to listen to. Frustrating, yes. But 'Music for the Masses' happens to be one of them and I believe, in these last weeks of semester, that I'm only now starting to fully appreciate the sex-appeal dripping off of 'Strangelove'. Now there is a song I'd go to bed with. It's been a Strangelove week. Hence the desire to check out what themes remixers drew out of it as well.

From what I've heard, there seems to be an almost uniform sense of rising to an ocassion displayed by people who've done remix work on Depeche Mode tracks. Or at least I like to think so.

I've a Kid606 remix of "Dream On" on my hard drive though I've no idea where it came from (the mp3 / the track itself).

It was one of the mixes released with the original single, I forget which format. It's been included on the rerelease of the single in the sixth box set.

I think that's a Depeche Mode song; I'm more of a Shadow fan than a DM fan though. Maybe someone could confirm. Terrific track nonetheless.

Surprised there's been no mention of the Kruder & Dorfmiester rmx of Useless yet. I read somewhere it's one of Martin Gore's favourites.

That Ulrich Schnauss mix of "Little 15" Ned mentions is truly gorgeous. Very spare and fragile, but also sort of malleable below the surface (malleable might not be the right word!)
