Its good but boy did the album suck. The video is sorta annoying but i also kind of like it.

What Would Sharon or Arafat Do?

the album has about three great songs, and this is by far the best of them. but jesus what a song. when i reviewed it when it came out i wrote, "'Needy Girl' is a single-of-the-year nominee, just don’t ask which year," which i still stand by.

the bald guy reminds me of Charlotte's husband in SITC (no, not Kyle Mclachlan)

I love this album. Instant party starter. I love the ratatatty "You're So Gangstas," and the "Destination Overdrive" jam... it's just super fun.

I agree 100% w/ Yanc3y, this is like the Fannypack of 2004. (except fannypack's album was stronger on the whole).

That said something about the coke-sniffing vice-reading fashionista-ness of it annoys me (on a non-musical level, obviously the song is still great fun).

By far the most uncool thing about Chromeo is that they're associated with Vice.
The album wasn't the best, but they're great musicians and I have a lot of hope for anything they do in the future.

I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:17 (twenty years ago)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:19 (twenty years ago)

*jaw falls off*

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:22 (twenty years ago)

three things:

1) i've watched that video at least once a day for the past month; i honestly love the song
2) it's the strangest video ever; he's impressing us by bagging the old fat white woman???
3) i never knew he was teh gay

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:25 (twenty years ago)

yeah such a strange final shot but my inital thought was your number 3 - how camp!

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:27 (twenty years ago)

ambrose (ambrose), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:25 (twenty years ago)

Yanc3y, i posted that on ilm earlier!

The acting clips are fucking MONSTOROUS, I love them. They're obviously not from any actual movies haha. he plays a pimp, a bad guy trying to kill "karate man" and a man trying to seduce a random woman on the street.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 23:55 (twenty years ago)

The highs on She's In Control outweigh the lows and the rollerksating clips are hott.
