Cryptic or American-style?

The clues aren't cryptic but the layout is not quite American- all the squares aren't checked. I guess it like the non-cryptic British puzzle. I just checked and I think they discontinued it a while back. If you find a good cryptic one somewhere, let me know. A good one, mind you.
