Bought Enemy of the Sun a couple days ago; sounds great. (Who knew that GYBE! was made obsolete in 1993?) I notice that these folks have a slew of releases (both as Neurosis, & the Tribes of Neurot) - anyone feel like recommending such things to little ol' me?

Info on other like-minded things would be fine, too. (Like, say, the Hydrahead label, the folks @ Relapse, etc.) I've heard an opinion that Neurot's release of a Tarentel record = the end of the end. I don't buy that, but I'm an eternal optimist with too much disposable income for my own good.

Try "Word As Law" by Neurosis, on Lookout! Records, available at better records shops everywhere. (Actually, I prefer "Souls At Zero" but don't tell anyone.)

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone. Or ethereal doom metal bands like Skepticism and Esoteric that sound like Neurosis and Tribes of Neurot played at the same time. You really don't need any more Neurosis than Enemy of the Sun (which is awesome, BTW!). Isn't the newest Zeni Geva record on Neurot? Has anyone heard it?

That and G. C. Green from Godflesh has some bizarro ambient release out as well. Enemy of the Sun = grate. And that GYBE comparison makes sense (and Neurosis and Gira are mutual admirers too -- HMMM).

So what the hell does the Tribes of Neurot sound like? They have some super-duper release coming out soon, featuring multiple records of varying sizes that sets off all the collector geek hormones in my weak little body.

Tribes of Neurot is "dark ambient" kind of stuff. It's not really my style.
