Did Janis Joplin ever record "You are not needed now"?

I've heard quite often that Townes Van Zandt wrote 'You are not needed now' for JJ, even that she recorded it, but i can't find any record of it. does it exist?

If I remember right, the song came out in '72 and she died in '71, so the song might be 'for her' in the sense that its a tribute rather than written for her to sing.
