Has anyone seen GBV on this last tour?

Because I'm getting ready to drop $50 on two tickets (both shows here in Portland are sold out) and that's a bit more then I'm use to spending for a live show. So is it worth it? Any surprises with the set list? Are they playing much of their new material (please say no)?

i saw them the day after the election, GREAT show, best GBV show i've been to definitely, hits, obscurities - LONG show, but in a good way. i didn't pay fifty bucks though.

Darin,

$50 cash for two tickets isn't bad. After ticketfucker charges, I paid $41.50.

just saw them twice here in austin. once at stubb's and again at the austin city limits taping. i can't say if it was worth $50, since i got into both for free.

both were immensely enjoyable and i wasn't that happy with the last time i had seem them. not too much new material and lots of surprising obscurities. i'd say go for it.

I read that the ACL show was great.

It's worth paying that much to see them do songs like "If We Wait" and "Squirmish Frontal Room" if you ask me.

fuck you gbv for never playing new orleans. the last time i saw gbv was on the cheap trick tour at the 9:30 in dc. do they still often open with "cut out witch?" i have dear and fond memories of that.

They played New Orleans Shim Sham club like 2, more like 3 years ago. BRMC opened. I didn't stay until the end because my girlfriend's feet got tired.

Yup. When I saw "If We Wait" and "Do The Earth" on some recent setlists, I nearly fell out of my chair. Bob hinted that they are going to be doing "Weed King" at the last few shows.

Yeah but Bardo Pond played that same week I think. And Bardo Pond vs GBV is v little competition.

Though I watched my old Watch Me Jumpstart VHS last night and reminded myself how very awesome GBV were at one point.
