Can anyone help me, I'm sure I read in an old Q magazine that Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood)had once been considerd to join the Rolling Stones to replace Mick Taylor. Is this my own imagination or is it at least a real rumour?

Harvey Mandel is the guy I always heard about auditioning. Think he might have played some on Black & Blue as well..

they auditioned a lot of people, so any/all of these might be plausible. I'm sure there's a list somewhere.

They had started rehearsing George Thorogood when Woodie agreed to to a tour. According to Stanley Booth.
