If I weren't handling a baby whilst listening to the System comp I just made I'd be listing approx 10% of my collection right now.

"You Can't Hide Your Love" is an all-time fave, the Larry Levan remix (on that Mastercuts CD) is definitive. Also...

Sharon Redd -- "Can You Handle It?"
Evelyn "Champagne" King -- "Love Come Down" & "I'm In Love"
The Whispers -- "It's A Love Thing"
TS Monk -- "Bon Bon Vie"
Mtume -- "Juicy Fruit"
Odyssey -- "Inside Out"
Rockers Revenge -- "Walking on Sunshine"
Patti Austin -- "Betcha Would't Hurt Me"
Gwen McRae -- "Funky Sensation"
Secret Weapon -- "Must Be the Music"
Grace Jones -- "Pull Up To The Bumper"

I'm gonna be remembering more as the day goes on.

Loveride - Vikki Love and Nuance (a monster track)
Thinking about your love - Skipworth and Turner

The original "Got To Have Your Love", plus Joyce Sims "Come Into My Life", Kym Thingy "Too Blind To See It".. actually pick almost anything non-rap that Kurtis Mantronik has had his hand in.

Imagination -- "Just an Illusion"
Nick Straker Band -- "A Little Bit of Jazz"
Chaka Khan & Rufus -- "Ain't Nobody"

David Joseph used to be the lead singer with Brit-Funk band Hi-Tension, IIRC.

Suggestions : Kashif's first LP (1982), which I think is something of a milestone - R&B enters the synth age. This was re-released last year as an accompanying CD to the singer's latest offering. He also produced stuff like Evelyn King's 'Love Come Down'. Also should mention Marvin's 'Midnight Love' here.

Also worth looking out for : Gwen Guthrie's output on Island ('Peek-a-boo', 'Seventh Heaven' etc), and as mentioned by others, D-Train (the first LP is great)
