What are your thoughts on those Pearls Before Swine tribute comps?

I'm giving the first volume my first listen in approx. 6 years; I got all three in the mail today.

My first exposure to this all was through my uncle, who got it without a knowledge of any of the tributing bands; he was just a huge PBS fan back in the day. The same day I think we listened to Balaklava and One Nation Underground. Those really stuck with me.

I finally buckled and bought the three tributes (for a mere $25 ppd from Secret Eye); I'm very excited by these track lists.. I don't remember ANYTHING about the first one when I first heard it; at the time the only band on it I knew was damon & naomi. But look at what I have to look forward to! Tower Recordings, Alstair Galbraith, ROGER ADULTERY, bardo pond, black forest/black sea, the olivetree, bevis frond, batoh, marissa nadler, kemisallist ystatat, fursaxa, thurston & watt, dead raven choir, stone breath.. and just as many (if not more) that I don't know at all! I have a feeling this is going to increase my "must order from eclipse" list onto a second or third sheet of steno paper.

I have the first and I too remember little immediate about it -- I know about the second, somehow completely missed that there was a third, though!

the second and third come as one double CD.. I think it alone is $15 or something.
