TS: AMG vs. Ned

ned's homepage is WAY better designed than AMG's. it's clear, direct and simple. it loads really fast. no gratuitous clicking needed. i understand, from the AMG thread, that ned is merely a content provider to them. but perhaps they could pick up some design tips from him, too.

Good lord, my page is RIDICULOUSLY outdated in terms of all those damned links. The design is simple, though.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 06:38 (twenty years ago)

well, i didn't exactly try every link. but i road-tested the design. i like simple things.

six years pass...

i don't think i've ever seen a store website that used amg content to this extent.

http://www.thelastrecordstore.com/

it almost seems like they should be paying for it. do they? it seems like they should. i dunno. just struck me. i couldn't find ned selling anything though! i did find filthy phil freeman though. he is selling art funk.

Licensing works in odd ways, I guess!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:08 (fourteen years ago)

amg rovi content is everywhere -- google something and it'll come up

mookieproof, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:14 (fourteen years ago)

so they do pay money to use that stuff? i wonder how much...

scott seward, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:14 (fourteen years ago)

its pretty smart actually. you've got that huge archive of written stuff. wow, i never really thought about it! (i don't know much about internet commerce)

scott seward, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:15 (fourteen years ago)

of course they pay crazy $, how else would ned raggett own the internet

mookieproof, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:16 (fourteen years ago)

i won't lie, tho -- i'm maybe a little bit in love with heather phares

mookieproof, Saturday, 7 May 2011 01:19 (fourteen years ago)

i went to high school with someone named heather fair. she was nice. great with horses.
