This is the best music documentary (non-concert) I have ever seen.
Better even than the similar BBC series Dancing in the Streets because
it gets to the heart of what makes music reach us, even when it is
populist crap (justifying Britney Spears and other horrible guilty
pleasures!). Plus it acknowledged The Eagles as capitalistic wankers,
while still acknowledging artists like Carole King, Grateful Dead,
Joni Mitchell, Elvis Presley, and record producers in general (Phil
Spector et. al.) as capitalistic but okay in spite of it (all true!).
Maybe this doco foreshadows the end of the music/money marriage can =
art? Dunno... Suggest you all listen to I Dream a Highway by Gillian
