Duran Duran wins so easily it isn't even fun.

"Say My Name" beats every Duran Duran song easily.

Duran Duran are prettier.

Before hearing the new Duran Duran single I would have always picked them, but now...

Any single one of the Durans, on their own, could whip the collective ass of Destiny's Child in any contest of attractiveness, talent, or sheer hipdom. Everyone knows that.

destiny's child wear less make up,

what bummed me about the Duran2 was that in the age of uber nostalgia right now that they didn't go and try to go back to the romantic-disco-punk-new wave thing that made them so great. Especially with the whole line up. Instead they go treading the same line into adult contemporary radio. Give us some edge you fuckers.

BTW trying to relive your past is often seen as trying to relive your past glory which is often interpreted as pathetic. In their case I would have adored it.

Of course, Duran Duran should be judged by what they did during their 80s prime, not what they do now. Destiny's Child are currently in their supposed "prime", and yet even the abysmal stuff Duran Duran are releasing now is way better than anything by Destiny's Child (or any other act within the same genre) has ever come close to.

I think if I'd grown up with more awareness of Duran Duran I would've picked them. As it is DC just mean more to me.

For a start, I'm a fan of Duran Duran. Always have been. Chances are, I always will be (hell, I think their cover of "White Lines" is fuckin' GREAT!), but even if I weren't, they would still win this.

Personally speaking, Destiny's Child make the most worthless, most irritating, most unlistenable, most offensive music in the world. This is not hyperbole. I've always felt this way. They are the veritable quintessence of substance-free pabulum. They are the sonic equivalent of mass-produced, factory-born cheese whiz. They are musical Soylent Green. I'd rather be locked in a room with nothing to listen to but a deluxe Scout Niblett box set than be subjected to even half a song by Destiny's Child. They suck, Suck, SUCK, SUCK, SUCK, SUCK!

SHUN THEM!

Duran Duran never penned lyrics as fantastic as:

"I'm not going to compromise my Christianity
You know I'm not going to diss you on the internet"

and

"I don't think you're ready for this jelly!"

So...Destiny's Child!

Actually, I should probably just stay away from this thread, for fear of being lynched by Duranies AND DC fans.

No a Calum thread, so really no reason to read.
