Savin All My Love 4 u (Savin 4ll my (heart) 4u), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Just listening to it now for the first time. "hot" is pretty accurate.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 06:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm with you all the way. But some parts of the album are really alike Lily's Zero Population Growth. Not that there's anything wrrong with that...

Kaiser of Köln (Kaiser of Köln), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

pitchforks gonna jizz all over this. or haev they already?

:| (....), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

anyway. sh3a and the tv extra band are among my favorite tracks this year ever but the rest of the album is a bit filleresque.

the art ensemble of chicago house (vahid), Friday, 15 September 2006 04:56 (nineteen years ago)

there's a new one coming out next week.

the art ensemble of chicago house (vahid), Friday, 15 September 2006 05:02 (nineteen years ago)

seriously ... ANDY MEECHAM and DEAN MEREDITH ... CAN DO NO WRONG

tim finney - "chicken lips is disco with all the fun parts studiously removed"

yes, but let me be the first to note that 2006 is like 1976 (?) with all the fun parts studiously removed.

1981? 1986? 1968?

the art ensemble of chicago house (vahid), Friday, 15 September 2006 05:05 (nineteen years ago)

Vahid as I've said before Chicken Lips got much better after I made that comment!

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Friday, 15 September 2006 05:51 (nineteen years ago)

nobody?

is this one of those things that the indie crew likes much better than the dance crew?

the art ensemble of chicago house (vahid), Friday, 15 September 2006 23:00 (nineteen years ago)

is the new one out?

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 15 September 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

street date is 9.28, i think?

there are full promo copies floating around.

the art ensemble of chicago house (vahid), Saturday, 16 September 2006 07:35 (nineteen years ago)

btw thx .. i used to pull all of the .rm files off d-i-r-t-y radio and burn them to disc after using a mp3 converter ... the illness of the dj gilb'r mixes almost made up for the poor sound quality!

when i would listen to a file off d-i-r-t-y and then a DAT-taped EM it was like taking wax out of my ears

also is the new white light circus good?

H2-H4 (H2-H4), Thursday, 28 September 2006 03:02 (nineteen years ago)

haitch

check the usual spot

HUNTA-V (vahid), Thursday, 28 September 2006 03:06 (nineteen years ago)

oooh.

I like how on the first two vert tones 12"s it's got 'part one/two of TWO', then on the next two it's 'part three/four or SIX'. like andy's gone, "people are liking this! time to REALLY go prog-disco."

H2-H4 (H2-H4), Thursday, 28 September 2006 03:20 (nineteen years ago)

seven months pass...

his remix of the new armand van helden single sounds like 'underwater' by harry thumann.

haitch, Saturday, 26 May 2007 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

love this record

and what, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

sounds like the music in 'pod people'

and what, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

Has there been any news on a White Light Circus or Padded Cell album? I need MORE of this stuff, two Emperor Machine LPs and assorted singles just ain't cutting it.

Telephone thing, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

his remix of !!!-Must be the Moon is cosmically delicious. Ohhhh that bassline is a runner!

THE OSCILLATION is the best record in this style since the last one on this label

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

is DC recordings the best label in the world right now??

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

yes that oscillation record is a killer!!

haitch, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:47 (eighteen years ago)

vahid what % of your posts are formulated in the form of rhetorical questions?

max, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

formulated as, formulated in the form of, whatever

max, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

what do you think????

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:55 (eighteen years ago)

there was a sign @ amoeba that said "buy on sight", so i did

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 03:56 (eighteen years ago)

vahid did you drop off DC for a while? i seem to remember a thread where you weren't that crazy about the more recent emperor machine stuff.

the giallo's flame 12" from a couple months back is another really good one. working this kraut-y/italian film soundtrack vein, more emphasis towards the latter.

haitch, Monday, 19 November 2007 04:00 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't like the 2nd emperor machine as much as the first, it's true. but i really really liked all of the padded cell stuff and the "death before distemper" comp and the remixes of the 1st emp machine album (girthius maxximus!!!) and now "the oscillation" is completely kicking my ass

how awesome is the art for

white light circus - interrupted time

clause four - blue on blue

who the hell are these people?

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, who's clause four, i know white light circus

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 19 November 2007 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

i have no idea. i do know that the oscillation thing is live-band reworks of stuff that came out on DC last year as 'the orchialic phase', though.

haitch, Monday, 19 November 2007 04:21 (eighteen years ago)

totally agree, this shit is all pretty good (I've skipped a few of the later Emperor 12s tho)

giallos flame did a great promo mix for some blog that was all euro prog and italian soundtrack stuff w/ breaks (mixed w/ new stuff that samples all that old stuff)

I hadn't heard about The Oscillation yet ... jeez that looks good

xpost

dmr, Monday, 19 November 2007 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

i would really love a padded cell album. i think one is on the way.

these guys do the bulk of the artwork - they're showing it at colette in paris atm!

thinking of dropping serious $ on DC artwork prints. a bridge too far, y/n?

haitch, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 10:39 (eighteen years ago)

at $100/per, it's completely beyond rationalization.

BATTAGS, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 19:54 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, maybe if it was a big wall-size poster but 60cm x 60cm? might as well just wait for the la boca monograph to come out.

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

I remember Lemon Jelly sold a poster for about £50 and that was massive.

Ive been toying with the idea of trying to get a La Boca print form some time, but at £140, its no where near worth it.

my print of unclassics was only about £15.

you could buy a better print form someone who needs the support for £140 and you wouldnt feel like a douchebag for spending £140, when you could have just stuck up the 12" in a frame and 99.99% of people would know no difference.

one year passes...

everytime they come up on itunes shuffle, I stop and look who it is, and am always pleasantly surprised. therefore: UNDERRATED

Dominique, Monday, 5 July 2010 22:31 (fifteen years ago)

just received word from one of the labels other bands that DC Recordings are no more.
no such news on the website.
anyone know more on this ?

thinking of dropping serious $ on DC artwork prints. a bridge too far, y/n?

― haitch, Wednesday, 19 December 2007 21:39 (2 years ago)

ended up getting the 'signal failure' one of these, it was one of the cheap ones. it glows in the dark!!

i noticed on the phonica mailout that the last couple of releases from the oscillation and higamos hogamos were both on 'all time low records'. maybe DC is morphing into some new form.
