It's not even subtle.

Certainly looks like one.

it was going to be, but then the iPod people said it was a conflict of interest, so they re-colored the concentric circles black and white instead of red and white.

I would comment but I know that Bono/Satan/Michael York is watching.

so is Adam Clayton/Azazel/Udo Kier.

Actually in the context of Omega Code 2: Megiddo (and you will never understand the evil of Bono until you see these movies), Udo would be Paul McGuinness.

doing a Target Ad would actually be relatively consistent with Bono's politics

My Plan For World Domination
by Bono

1. Spend youth leading well-intentioned histrionic new wave group with some admittedly powerful songs. "Even Satan comes as an angel of light."
2. Gradually increase the faux-spiritual egomania to unprecidented levels. Eventually introduce the concept of "irony" into my work, confusing those who might detect my messianic nature.
3. Be photographed next to people in power.
4. Publicly announe that I'm Curing World Hunger, further inspiring a planet of rockists to ask if I can save the world.
5. Join forces with Target and crush Wal-Mart, gaining further acclaim. Erase world debts and inspire a docile, defenseless world that adores me.
6. Create a Nu-Catholic Church of my well-intentioned, deluded rockists AND DECLARE MYSELF GOD AND KING OVER ALL I SURVEY!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

5 should also include Apple, Interscope and other coroporate monoliths as his financial backers.

Target and Wal-Mart are not on the same side.

Irony is a good way to get over when being earnest.

Yes, Target is the "liberal" monolith with cooler clothes. By uniting the hipper behemoths he will be powerful yet seem benign. He has to wear tinted sunglasses at all times now because his eyes are red and glowing.

I liked the chorus better when it was in that old Supremes tune.

In addition to overwhelming exposure on radio, MTV and the ubiquitous I-Pod campaign, "Vertigo" was used for a spot segment on Monday Night Football last night. Promotion for this album won't be complete, though, until the Irish mob comes door-to-door and strongly *encourages* you to buy one, boy-o.
