There's a very strange sentimentality running through every song. The song "Blood Embrace" is probably the best song Oldham has ever written. That Barfly sample (i'm almost positive it's Barfly - can anyone corroborate?) gives me chills. I haven't been this affected by anything the 'Prince has done since the "Hope" EP. And his lyrics keep getting better.
My only small, piddling complaint is that there is a little too much Bonnie and not quite enough Matt Sweeney - but how is this being 'billed?' as Superwolf? as Bonnie Prince Billy and Matt Sweeney, or Bonnie Prince Billy featuring Matt Sweeney?
Anyway, it's really great.
